Established in 1927 by Bishop Emmanuel B. Ledvina (Corpus Christi) This is the first Catholic parish in the City of Harlingen, Texas. From this parish the following parishes were created through the years: taking the East, Saint Anthony in 1940; taking the South and West, Our Lady of Assumption in 1958; taking the North, Queen o Peace in 1967.
Nowadays the IMC Territory appears as a stretch of blocks in the old part of the City, West of the rail road tracks, the Mexican side of the City. Estimated territorial area is 196 blocks ( an average of twenty families perblock, for a housing , with nieghorhood comerical establishment, no industry, a couple of elementary schools, the City Cemetery lines within our parish territory
